I have been thinking about going back to school for a long time, and now I am finally biting the bullet and going for it. I took the GRE over a year ago when I was first toying with the idea, but first I wanted to give my degree the opportunity to fly.

I graduated college with a degree in Journalism, did a ton of internships (even amazing hands on “real reporting” type ones),  had a very solid resume tape, looked and searched and begged for a job, finally landed a reporter position, covered some stories I’m happy of … and then was subsequently laid off.

The reality is the industry isn’t what I thought it was and I’m not going to be the next Woodward or Bernstein. It’s a complicated situation and would be tedious to discuss completely, but I live in the #2 market and am not going to get a job anywhere that Ben can get a job.

So, after much thought and doubt and discussion, I’ve chose to take the steps toward becoming an RD. best now it will probably take me about 3 years to complete – I have a full year of pre-reqs at a local community college before I can even start the program! *I am not admitted to a RD program yet, best now I am just doing all the science requirements needed to apply.

And on top of that, I’m kinda married and want to make babies ? We always figured we would wait two or three years, and that is still the plan, it’s just much more complicated.

A lot much more complicated.

But, I’m excited.

What I loved about reporting was meeting new people, talking to them and understanding their story to share with the public. now I get to meet people and understand their situation to help them.

Luckily, Camiseta Fluminense the blog gives me the opportunity to continue to write and reach out to people, so I feel like I still get the best of both worlds. I really, truly, deeply appreciate everyone who reads because the blog is something that is a huge part of my life happiness ?

I’m kind of idealizing it best now, but the night before I start 3 much more years of school I need much more hope than reality.

And so another journey begins over at Run, Eat, Repeat. never a dull moment.

Oh, and I am also starting a new part time job today.

You can sleep when you’re dead.

Pro Tip: This isn’t jewelry but, a road ID or other similar safety item would be a good way to show the special mother in  your life you want her to be safe.

8. A Running particular gift Basket. Ask what she needs in her running arsenal, things like a Running Belt // Sweat proof Sunscreen // Her favorite protein Bars // Women’s Running Magazine, etc would make  a great gift on its own or in a gift basket.

9. sports massage – If mothers are like anybody else on the entire planet massages are always welcome. benefit points if you get a sports particular massage to relieve achy runner muscles.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT– The Marathon to end All

This morning I hit up the gym for strength training, but didn’t do any cardio. So, I took a walk on my lunch break. I need a walk a day to help keep me from having an anxiety attack and it was nice.

On my long run this weekend I ran to whole Foods and the organic kale was on sale. I love kale, but mostly only eat it as kale chips. But, roasting the hell out of such a healthy veggie and then drowning it in ketchup didn’t seem best this time.

Tuesday night I made a massaged kale salad with my own dressing. That is pretty fancy for me! I even washed the kale! <- I know, who am I?! Cochina. Anyways, one bunch of kale made a huge bowl of greens and I dressed it with: 1 Tb. Olive oil, 2 Tb. maple syrup, 2 Tb. OJ and salt. I added a handful of raisins and peanuts to complete the salad and it was delicious! We had it with these chicken kabobs I got from Costco. They are perfectly spicy and delicious. I recently created my #FitnessBucketList on Pinterest  I’m not done with it yet, but here’s what I have so far… 1. complete a triathlon 2. Climb half Dome – DONE. actually I already did this, but half Dome, along with running a marathon, were my 2 original goals I’ve had for years and years! So I wanted to make sure I gave myself credit report for that. 3. another epic hike. I think I might want to do the Grand Canyon…? 4. Run in every state. This is going to take a long time! 5. Run the nyc Marathon. After the long beach marathon I was ready to hang up my marathon shoes. Then, I chose I wanted to do one much more mary first. But which marathon would be a good finale?! Well, I’ve heard for years that the crowds and experience of running new York is unlike any other Camiseta Leeds United race I’d ever do. Also, according to the marathon machine, skinny Runner, the best marathon is The ING new York City Marathon.

So, run the new York City Marathon was on my fitness bucket List. I wasn’t sure when I’d be able to actually do it though because NY is really hard to get into and the race plus travel would cost a lot!(source)

Well a few weeks ago I got an email with the subject line…

“NY Marathon web series Casting”

Um, okay. I thought this is Camiseta Real Sociedad a total scam but I’ll check it out.

Turns out the ING new York city marathon is putting together a web series featuring all different kinds of runners. The webisodes will share stories and suggestions from a few people running new York.

Well, I was picked. I am going to run the new York City Marathon in November!!! AHHHH! This is beyond a huge deal. When I got the email that I was chosen I read it 3 times and then called Ben at work and read it to him to be sure. (source)

Yes. I don’t know who or why or how they picked me, but they did.

So, I am going to new York on Sunday to film some of the webisodes. My series will be about FOOD. Of course

I had a call with the producers today and it sounds like what I’ll be doing is very exciting and fun!

I’ll be filming in new York Monday and Tuesday and will be back home Wednesday and back to “real life”.

My head is spinning over all of this. I know I don’t are worthy of all these awesome things that happen to me because of RER, but I’m accepting my blessings with the grace of an adult and burying the worry and doubt deep down where I can’t find it.

Details about my webisodes will come as I get it. Oh, and I’ll post about training for the mary as soon as I figure that out! (Yes, I just realized I have to actually run 26 miles and it’s not all fun and games. I asked and Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Túnez they won’t let me take a cab to the finish…)

Boxing Canada Warns athletes of Perils of rapid extreme Weight cutting

A useful powerpoint presentation created by Dr. Kien Camiseta Olympique Marseille Trinh was recently published by Boxing Canada warning athletes about the perils of rapid extreme Weight cut practices.

The presentation is user-friendly and worth reading in full.  Titled “Making Weight in Boxing – Camiseta Rangers FC how to do it Better“, it can be found here.

In short the noted performance measures not to mention increased risks to safety are highlighted.  Dangerous weight cut practices are noted with tips being given for ideal weight cut practices backed with peer reviewed sources.  All combat sports athletes and trainers should invest a few minutes to review this presentation Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Ecuador in full.

Breakfast for Lunch

This isn’t “Brunch” because I feel like brunch happens when you have a late breakfast/early lunch. But, I had my typical breakfast and then wanted eggs for lunch.

I scrambled up: onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, salsa and a little bit of spinach with egg beaters for this mix. served with a ww tortilla for scooping.

No surprise that it’s served with an avocado ? I hate being so predictable, but I love eating these!

This afternoon I purchased a new granola and had to try it best away. This is a file photo because I was too busy eating to take a pic.  

Dinner was take out. After Ben got home Camiseta Chelsea FC we walked the perros and by the time we thought about dinner it Camiseta SSC Napoli was 8pm! I chose an old favorite – Cheese Quesadilla. I really just got it for nostalgia. This was always my purchase from a local burger place when we were kids.

My purchase at Taco Bell was a Bean & Cheese burrito and an purchase of Pintos & Cheese. I think it says something that I naturally didn’t purchase things with meat in them, but it wasn’t an ethical or nutritional choice, just my taste preference.

 Healthy shopping – yesterday at Costco the lady behind me said, “You eat healthy!” when she saw my food loot. Then, she went on to ask specifics about my mushrooms and other eats.

I love talking food with anyone, so I chatted away of course ? But, it kinda made me feel strange that someone judges me (good or bad) based on my food choices. That doesn’t make any sense because I put Camiseta OGC Nice my entire life and food choices on display here, but I guess I think of it differently?
