Tips for Boston Marathon race day morning:

I have been doing this whole blogging dealio for a while now, but still get really thrilled each time I get an email about an event or new and improved running shoe. I am very grateful.

I’ve also been very introspective lately and realize this is a special time in my life, but it’s not going to last forever. I don’t know where I’ll be a year from now, but today I am focused Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Irán on my blessings.

8.5 hours later

I feel so much better after 8 1/2 hours of sleep! I woke up this morning and jumped out of bed. I was going to skip a run today in favor of some strength training, but I had way too much energy. I ended up running 4.5 miles and felt great the whole time! It should have been all that cereal carb-loading I did in the afternoon. Oops!

Note: I wasn’t in love with the love crunch granola. It’s good, but not great. However, I am in very crazy love with Cinnamon Sweets and to be sure it isn’t a fluke, ate 3 bowls Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Corea del Sur yesterday. plus numerous handfuls. It’s better than I can describe.

Freedom’s Run half Marathon

I ran the Freedom’s Run half Marathon today! This was my very first race on the east coastline as well as the terrain is definitely different from SoCal. This race was really in West Virgina as well as was about 70 miles away so we left the home at 6am to get there in time for the 9am race (I still had to pick up my packet too).

Here I am before the race in my trash bag for warmth. just keeping it classy, per usual. (Someone did ask me why I was using a bag!)

I don’t understand my official time since I didn’t checked out the time indication when I crossed the surface line. as well as my Garmin stated I had only ran 12.89 miles? WTF. most of the time at half marys my Garmin states I’ve run more than 13.1? I didn’t cut corners or anything so I don’t understand why that happened. Anyway, my Garmin’s time was 1:50:51. as well as I’m extremely happy keeping that since my previous half pr is 1:52:59 – so I believe I beat that?!

The program included a great deal of rolling hills with old Civil war battlefields. There is a ton of history that occurred right here on this land. It was extremely great to run by statues as well as monuments throughout the course. I was not great to run up a hill, down a hill, up a hill, down a hill. I was super discouraged by mile 8.

Things I was believing included:

“The website did not state it would be this hilly.” 

“I am not utilized to hills, there is no method I am going to PR.”

“I want to move back to CA where it’s super flat.”

“I am not made to run on hills, hell, I’m not made to run at all! I’m lucky if I do well on flat ground…” (Probably during a poor uphill)

I was doubting myself huge time. No bueno.

Finally there was a ton of down hills as Camiseta River Plate well as I made up my lost time! I was truly “pysching myself out”. The downhill assisted get me back to positive thinking. It goes to show exactly how much of running is truly in your head. You have to stay positive!!! getting caught in a unfavorable mindset will never assist you run better.

I likewise had a Gu at miles 5 as well as 9 as well as that truly assisted too! Do the Gu people!

I completed strong as well as felt great at the end ? right here I am stretching when I crossed the surface line.

Before the race I ate PB&banana as well as the rest of the banana with PB & raisins when we got to the race. I likewise grabbed a piece of Ben’s PB&J.

After the race I ate an orange as well as grapes as well as 1/4 a bagel.

Ben drove with Taco Bell as well as I had a bite of his food too.

Now I am eating this large smoothie topped with granola, nuts as well as raisins. I dislike that I am never truly hungry after a long run even though I would totally let myself eat whatever I want guilt free!!

 This smoothie was packed with granola goodness plus I added more goodies.

I put this in the smoothie too, amazing grass sent it a while back as well as I have been meaning to try it.

I am planning on some Chipotle for dinner. as well as we’re hitting up Oktober Fest, which I’ve never done before so we’ll see exactly how it goes!

I keep inspecting the race website for my official time since I’m not sure if 1:50:51 is my genuine time (my Garmin distance seemed off). I’ll let you understand if I discover something different.

I packed something other than PB&J for lunch again today! This is a very tasty and fun challenge ? I’m not making anything “new”, but it’s good to get back to some old favorites.

I made a substantial salad with tons of veggies and beans for protein. I used my favorite TJ’s Peanut dressing too.

I also had some Kashi crackers and 2 seltzers with lunch. I may or may not have had another seltzer later. I am an addict.
For dessert – 2 of my chocolate chip Camiseta Real Sociedad cookies ? dessert with lunch is so fun! But, these have to be microwaved to taste best the next day.

I brought a lot of fruit to snacks today – Camiseta Leeds United kiwi and grapes. I love fruit! I ate some a lot more Kashis considering that fruit doesn’t keep me full for long.
