As a dancer, I spend lots of time sweating in the studio or on the stage—but that doesn’t indicate that dance is the only way I work out. I love Fryman Canyon Park and Lake Hollywood Park—both have spectacular sweeping views of the city, and lots of hills to get your heartrate up. often it even turns into an arms workout! Harley normally gets worn out halfway through, and I end up having to carry her!

Yoga for balance

I occasionally switch a cardio class for CorePower Yoga, and I’m hoping to hit the mat a lot more often. From practice to rehearsal, my life is all about music and movement, so it can be great to balance that with a quiet moment. I love yoga because it’s a workout for the body, but even a lot more so for the mind and soul. I feel refreshed and fantastic after every session.

At-home extras

Even if you can’t make it to the fitness center or studio, you can take conditioning work with you anywhere you go. around the house, I do lots of lunges and squats. If we’re hanging out and watching TV, I’ll do an ab series. once you start taking advantage of all those bit moments throughout the day, there are so lots of chances to get fit.
